Before Baking
After Baking and Isomalt
During the 2025 Thanksgiving break, I decided to make a gingerbread church from scratch. I began by preparing sturdy cookie dough and cutting each piece with precision to ensure a clean fit. To create a glass-like effect for the windows, I filled them with melted isomalt. Although I initially ran into issues with the mixture overflowing, I adapted by using royal icing to refine the edges and enhance the final look. After decorating each panel with icing, I assembled the structure using hot glue for stability. Once the house was standing, I added finishing touches with additional royal icing, candy details, and a dusting of powdered sugar to bring the design to life.
